  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp brewed coffee

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until bubbly (about 5 minutes).
  2. Mix in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, sprinkle with cinnamon mixture, cut into strips, and tie into knots.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle with coffee icing after cooling slightly.
