  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (dark preferred)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil (or melted butter), eggs, and espresso powder until well combined.
  4. Gradually fold in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until just mixed; lumps are okay!
  5. Gently fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before slicing.
