  • 1 lb beef flank steak
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooking oil as needed

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and brown sugar for about 15 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef until browned (4-5 minutes) and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add broccoli with a splash of water and steam for about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Return beef to the pan along with chicken broth/water and any remaining marinade. Stir until heated through (2-3 minutes).
  6. Serve over rice or noodles.
