  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix pitted cherries with half of the maple syrup and a pinch of cinnamon. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, almonds, brown sugar, flour, remaining maple syrup, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Spread the almond crisp topping evenly over the cherry mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
