Instructions

  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until dissolved, then bring to a boil without stirring until it turns golden.
  3. If desired, add food coloring once the syrup reaches 300°F (150°C) and stir briefly.
  4. Dip each apple into the hot syrup while rotating for even coverage, letting excess syrup drip off before placing on parchment paper.
  5. Allow the candy apples to cool completely before enjoying.
