  • 4 bone-in pork chops (1-inch thick)
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 8 fresh sage leaves
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat pork chops dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low; add minced garlic and sage leaves around the chops, sautéing briefly until fragrant.
  4. Spoon apple butter over each chop, then pour chicken broth around them. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Remove from oven, swirl in butter before serving.
