  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (prepared with heavy cream and chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring them onto wire racks to cool completely.
  5. Whip buttercream frosting until fluffy. Slice each cooled cake layer horizontally into four layers total and apply frosting between layers.
  6. Prepare chocolate ganache by heating heavy cream until steaming, then pour over chopped chocolate; stir until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly before pouring over the frosted cake.
