  • 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil or regular)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (spicy or sweet)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully cooked. Stir occasionally.
  3. Add marinara sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg and half of the Parmesan until smooth.
  5. In a baking dish, layer marinara sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, and mozzarella repetitively until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let rest before slicing and serving.
