  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips against the grain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, ginger, and garlic; marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sesame oil and cook marinated beef until browned (4-5 minutes), then remove from the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, add more sesame oil and stir-fry broccoli for 3-4 minutes until bright green but still crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the pan with any leftover marinade. Add brown sugar and stir until everything is coated in the sauce (about 2-3 minutes).
  6. Serve over steamed rice or noodles and garnish with chopped green onions.
